Turn on two-factor authentication
With two-factor authentication on, signing in needs a 6-digit code from an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator) as well as your password.
- Go to Settings → Account & login → Two-factor authentication.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
- Enter the code the app shows. Two-factor is now on.
When you turn it on, you'll see backup codes. Keep them somewhere safe: if you lose your authenticator app, each one works once in place of a code.
We'll let you know when someone signs in from a new device. If it wasn't you, change your password right away.
